著名人がスヴェーデンボリについて評した言葉を紹介します。

鈴木大拙（1870-1966）　仏教学者。英文で多くの著作をなし、それによって禅の思想を海外に広く伝えた。スヴェーデンボリの神学著作を最初に和訳、紹介した。

神学界の革命家、天界地獄の遍歴者、霊界の偉人、神秘界の大王、古今独歩の千里眼、精力無比の学者、明敏、透徹の科学者、出俗脱塵の高士、之を一身に集めたるをスエデンボルグとなす。吾國今や宗教思想界の風雲、漸くまさに急ならんとす。精神を養はんとするもの、時世を憂ふるもの、必ず此人を知らざるべからず。〔『スエデンボルグ』序〕

エリザベス・バレット・ブラウニング　Elizabeth Barrett Browning（1806-1861）　英国ヴィクトリア朝のの代表的な詩人の一人。夫は桂冠詩人ロバートブラウニング。『ポルトガル語からのソネット(Sonnets from the Portuguese)』『オーローラ・リー(Aurora Leigh)』などの作品がある。
